Job Description:
This position is for a part-time (16-20 hours per week) Bookkeeper with diverse, hands-on experience in the world of accounting willing to flex their schedule and manage their time to meet set deadlines. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, self-driven, proactive, and communicative with minimal supervision. This individual will be highly organized, dependable and able to operate under the strictest confidentiality. In addition, this person will also be a forward thinker and possess a desire and willingness to learn new tasks and new technology.
The Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or working toward a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent blend of education and experience)
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- 5+ years of accounting experience to include general ledger, AP, AR
- Proficient in Quickbooks Online (including automations and integration features), Stripe, Google Suite products
- Experience with Stripe and Concur desired
General Responsibilities
General responsibilities will include: knowledge and interaction with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, Accrual Accounting, Sales Tax Filings in multiple jurisdictions and assisting the Accounting Manager as needed.
Specific Duties:
- Process, record and reconcile day to day financial transactions including A/R and A/P according to GAAP
- Create manual A/R invoices
- Follow up with clients regarding past due invoices
- Maintain all AP and Credit Card receipts electronically- follow up with staff or vendors for any missing receipts in a timely manner
- Process expense reports through Concur
- Prepare and post bi-monthly payroll journal entries
- Post monthly recurring Journal entries including revenue, deferred revenue, prepaids, amortization, accruals etc
- Maintain support schedule and reconcile all balance sheet accounts including: fixed assets, depreciation, deferred revenue, accruals, prepaids etc.
- Post One-off journal entries as needed
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Maintain electronic files on shared drives
- Assist in filing sales tax returns in multiple jurisdictions
- Assist in month end and year end close according to set timelines
- Review General Ledger to ensure proper allocation
- Assist with budget variance analysis
